Outfitting in Ship Production The competitiveness of the European shipbuilding industry is mainly influenced by the productivity of outfitting processes and the quality of equipment systems. For highspecialised ships like cruisers, ferries or product tankers these processes and systems represent about 70% of the total added value. The close co-operation between shipbuilding suppliers and shipyards is therefore more and more important. The Meyer Werft GmbH as one of the most successful shipyards for cruise liners worldwide will give a perfect background for the topics of this conference.
