The port of Frederikshavn, being a commercial port, functions as a service centre for trade and industry in Frederikshavn and the North of Jutland.

The port of Frederikshavn is the starting point for ferry traffic to Sweden (Gothenburg) and Norway (Oslo) – and to the island of Laesoe.

The port has a total of 6 km of quays, 5 ferry berths, 1 railway ferry berth and 3 Ro-Ro berths at its disposal.

The water depth in the harbour is between 7 and 8 metres.

The port covers a total area of 1,730,000 m2, of which the water area is 540,000 m2.
